Itinerary

Day 1: Fez “Arrival Morocco”

Upon arrival at Fez Airport, the spiritual capital of Morocco, you will be met by our driver. Depending on the arrival time, you will be transferred to the Riad/Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Fez “Visit the City”

After breakfast, you will begin your guided tour of the medina, one of the world’s largest walled-in cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets, and many other art objects of Morocco. You will visit mosques, including the Quaraouiyine Mosque founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri and the Andalusian Mosque dating back to 860. Entry is not permitted for non-Muslims (you can take pictures from the door). You’ll also visit fountains, medersas (Koranic schools), Batha Palace (now a museum of arts and traditions), Chouwara Tanneries, souks, Bab Boujloud with its green and blue ceramics, Mellah, the 17th-century Ibn Danan synagogue, the King’s Palace, and in the afternoon, you’ll visit the Borj north or south to see the old medina from the top and enjoy the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at the Riad.

Day 3: Fez / Ifrane / Medilt / Erfoud / Merzouga

After breakfast, depart through Ifrane, a winter ski resort built by the French in the 1930s to resemble a Swiss village. We will visit the cedar forest in Azrou where you will see monkeys. We’ll drive across the Middle Atlas Mountains, enjoying the beautiful forests, springs, jagged rock faces, and Berber villages as we descend towards the Sahara Desert. We’ll stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks. Then we’ll continue towards Merzouga, stopping at panoramic views to see a huge oasis of palm trees. In the afternoon, after some rest, your guide and camels will be waiting for you to start a camel trekking experience across the sandy dunes of Erg Chebbi. You’ll enjoy the beauty of the sunset on the camel, and after an hour, you’ll reach the desert camp to spend the night in a Berber tent. At the camp, your camels will be hobbled and mint tea will be served. After dinner, you can watch the stars. Overnight in the tent.

Day 4: Merzouga / Tinghir / Gorges / Ouarzazate

After a delicious breakfast, you’ll depart for Ouarzazate, traveling the rugged Road of a Thousand Kasbahs that rise up like turreted sand castles along this ancient caravan trading route. This area has long been a popular location for Hollywood films. We’ll stop for lunch and take a walk in Todra Gorges. We’ll travel through the Dadès Valley, past dramatic escarpments. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 5: Ouarzazate / Ait Ben Haddou / Marrakech

After breakfast, we will visit the town of Ouarzazate, including the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios movie studios, the largest and most famous in Africa. We’ll stop in Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its kasbah, which has been featured in films like The Gladiator, Babel, and Lawrence of Arabia. We’ll continue passing through the High Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, enjoying the continuously changing landscape and colors of the beautiful mountains. We’ll reach Marrakech for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Marrakech “Medina Guided Tour”

After breakfast, you’ll have a full-day tour to visit Marrakech. The tour will include the Menara Gardens, a magnificent pool surrounded by flowers, the Koutoubia Minaret, the Saadian Tombs, the Dar Si Said Museum with its display of Berber arts and crafts, and the Bahia Palace. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant, followed by a walk through the colorful souks of Marrakech. The day will conclude with a sunset drink overlooking the Jamaa El Fna square. Dinner with a show will be served in a restaurant, and you’ll spend the night in a Riad.

Day 7: Marrakech / Casablanca

After breakfast, depart towards Casablanca. Upon arrival, you will visit the city of Casablanca, also known as “the white city.” The visit will begin with an orientation tour through its broad avenues, followed by a stroll through the narrow streets of the medina. You’ll visit landmarks such as the United Nations Square, the Place Mohammed V, the central market district, the residential district of Anfa, the Boulevard of the Corniche along pools and restaurants, and the Hassan II Mosque. As one of the largest mosques in the world and a beautiful work of art, it is open to non-Muslims for visitation. You’ll also have some time to relax at the beach. In the evening, dinner will be served, and you’ll spend the night in a hotel.
